GENERAL SUMMARY The Senior Business Data Analyst reports directly to the Director of Planning & Analysis. In addition to the activities of the Business Data Analyst, this role provides supervisory and training support to Business Data Analysts and direct support to business development efforts, budgeting, reporting, and analysis. The Senior Business Data Analyst is responsible for performing advanced analytics using strong math, statistics, programming, data mining, and problem-solving skills to optimize and develop business opportunities and assist with executive business recommendations. FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort Casino (PRC). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise and support Business Data Analysts in the completion of reports, budgeting, and analytics projects. Perform independent analytical research to identify and resolve complex data and validate results. Assist in the creation and review of company budgets, providing information and assisting management in budget preparation, implementation, and control. Apply critical thinking skills and perform advanced analytics to solve complex and multi-faceted business problems. Perform advanced quantitative and statistical analysis of large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that can improve business performance. Collect and organize data using complex database queries, software systems, and business intelligence tools. Develop presentations to summarize and communicate key messages to senior management. Collaborate with others in the organization to develop new ideas and brainstorm potential solutions. Perform special projects and ad hoc analysis in support of business development opportunities. Provide strategic analysis and support to the company budget. Prepare complex concept models for events, promotions, and property changes. Analyze financial information to determine profitability and provide recommendations as appropriate. Support the business in various projects, cost reduction initiatives, and analytics. Other duties as assigned. ACCOUNTABILITY : This position has supervisory responsibilities that include support and mentoring. The Team Member is responsible for protecting the assets of PRC. QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION : Bachelors degree with an emphasis in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related analytical field of study preferred. Accounting acceptable with statistics experience/knowledge. At least 5 to 8 years of experience in analysis and business analytics is preferred. Proven ability to develop predictive data models using statistical and mathematical methods. Ability to understand financial statements. Knowledge of the current and relevant gaming industry is preferred. COMMUNICATION SKILLS : Solid communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to communicate and present complex mathematical information/analytics in business language for management. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Capable of communicating complex technical information to a non-technical audience. Ability to train, provide direction, support, and direct Business Data Analysts. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Solid foundation and/or education in mathematics, statistics, probability, or engineering preferred. Ability to work with advanced mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY : Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS : Must qualify to obtain and maintain a class A gaming license. SKILLS/ABILITIES : Advanced knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, lookups, charts, graphs, and advanced formula writing. Advanced knowledge of MS Access and/or MS SQL preferred. Experience with Infor/FSM, XLCubed, Bally CMS (CMP, SDS, Table View, Bally BI), and Business Intelligence software preferred. Strong cognitive skills including analysis, problem solving, and attention to detail. Ability to merge data from separate sources and systems for analysis and recommendations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics. Ability to define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all departments and management levels. Ability to investigate and learn new technologies and products. Passion for continuous learning and professional development. Ability to effectively supervise and train. Must be outgoing, energetic, and capable of interacting with the general public in a highly professional manner.
