Cyber Security Engineer
Abacus Technology is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to provide system, application, and personnel security support for the EPASS program at Lackland AFB. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities include: Supporting the system/application authorization and accreditation effort. Recommending policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility. Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of information systems. Promoting awareness of security issues among management. Conducting systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews. Recommending systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures. Recommending and implementing programs to ensure systems security policies adherence. Participating in network and systems design to ensure appropriate systems security policies. Assessing security events to determine impact and implementing corrective actions. Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies. Qualifications include: 15+ years experience in an IT role including extensive cyber security experience and at least 5 years experience supporting DoD programs. Bachelor's degree in a related field. CISSP certification or a similar certification in compliance with DoD 8570 IAT III/IAM II requirements. Familiarity with DIACAP, Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and IA Controls. Experience with development/architecture for apps and services, and testing and administration. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows technologies. Basic Linux experience to include Red Hat and Fedora. Networking experience including routers, switches, and firewalls. Experience with Cisco and Juniper. Strong desktop application administration experience. Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to work in a multi-disciplined environment with an adaptive personality. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Analytical skills to troubleshoot IA issues. Familiarity with EITDR and eMass desired. Must be able to apply intensive and diverse knowledge to problems and make independent decisions. Must be a team player able to work professionally and collaboratively with the government customer and other contract members of the project team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a client focus. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
