POSITION: Shipping & Receiving Operator

REPORTS TO: Shipping: Warehouse Manager

Check One: FLSA Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

To provide production, quality and service in a timely, safe and conscientious manner. To troubleshoot and offer input towards continuous improvement. To work in a respectful and courteous manner. To be accountable and responsible for all work performed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Must wear required personal protective equipment. •Reports all potentially unsafe conditions. •Work in a safe manner and maintain safe work area. •Knows how to unload a truck and fill out an inbound manifest. •Collects packing lists and completes an inbound to turn into the office. •Must wear safety belt and orange vest while driving Hi Lo •Operate hi lo in a safe manner. •Notifies of any damage incoming material •Can follow a customer pick sheet •Can look up parts in inventory •Can look up pass through brackets and knows which components make which finished good (able to look up) •Knows how to use a handheld scanner to perform scan gun functions accurately. •Can create customer labels in Future 3 •Can create and build master labels •Can locate material properly •Knows how to autoflow/repack •Can perform a split •Can perform a combine •Knows how to unload a interplant truck and I/W receipt •Knows the difference between packaging •Can create an interplant shipper •Knows how to fill out the hilo check sheet •Ensures all containers have proper quantities and labels •Knows how to use a scale to verify weight and piece count •Can successfully perform receipt (including) •Accurately fill out an inbound •Accurately receiving outside •Process freight

•Can load a customer truck (including) •Filling out outbound manifest •Unloading /tracking dunnage •Accurately load the truck. •Adapt to assignments outside the scope of the job description in order to meet the needs of shipping & receiving. •Knowledge and practice of all applicable Hutchinson's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors and other plant personnel. Attention to detail and accuracy to completion of scheduled tasks. Must be able to operate a Hilo equipment correctly, efficiently and safely in a manufacturing environment. Must have the ability to perform computer input commands and scanning activities accurately.

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent; or three months to six months of related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Basic math and problem-solving skills required for completion of paperwork and reporting.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Use of a handheld scanner to perform RF scanning functions

REASONING ABILITY:

The employee must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.

Hilo (fork truck) operator's license.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit while driving a Hilo; walk; bend; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; and regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, to climb, and to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

The employee will work predominately in a manufacturing environment where the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be required including safety glasses, steel toed shoes, hearing protection and an orange safety vest while operating a Hilo. The employee may also be required to use sleeves or gloves or other (PPE) upon assigned work tasks.
