Description

Function:

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and accurately documenting all incoming shipments of raw materials, components, and supplies for the manufacturing plant. This ensures that inventory is correct by verifying incoming shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and maintaining inventory accuracy.

Scope:

This role supports production by efficiently unloading, inspecting, and staging materials while complying with all safety and quality standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

§ Receive and unload incoming shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment

§ Inspect deliveries for damage, quantity, and accuracy against packing slips and purchase orders

§ Record and enter receiving data into ERP or inventory systems (JDE)

§ Label and stage received goods for production or storage

§ Notify appropriate departments of received items and any discrepancies or damaged goods

§ Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving dock and staging areas Review material flow to ensure the department is set up to flow efficiently. Resolve inventory discrepancies as required. § Comply with all safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures

Supervision:

Given: Clerks as assigned (if assigned)

Received: Daily direction from ReceivingSupervisor as needed.

Working Conditions & Safety Concerns:

Ability to lift 50pounds or twice per day. Must be able to stand & walk for long periods of time.

Qualifications

Skills/Experience:

1 to 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing warehouse environment. Posses strong math skills. Ability to operate a forklift and operate a weigh count scale. Excellent organizational skills required. Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or ERP systems Knowledge of the JDE system to review and/or updatereceiving transactions. Knowledge of piece parts, part numbering systems, and internal paperwork flow. Good communication skills required.

Preferred Skills:

§ Familiarity with ISO standards or lean manufacturing practices.

§ Knowledge of raw material and component identification.

Education:

High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
