Position: Meat & Seafood Department Manager

The Meat & Seafood Manager plays a vital role in upholding these standards, overseeing both departments to ensure exceptional quality, excellent customer service, and efficient daily operations. From handmade sausages and USDA Prime beef to the freshest seafood delivered daily, you'll lead a team that embodies Joseph's commitment to excellence.

Routine Tasks: Lead and inspire both the Meat and Seafood department teams to deliver exceptional customer service Ensure product freshness and strict adherence to sanitation and safety protocols Provide hands-on training to all new and existing associates in both departments to ensure knowledge, consistency, and efficiency Actively engage with customers-sharing product knowledge, answering questions, and making tailored recommendations; train staff to do the same Manage departmental budgets, including sales goals, profit margins, labor costs, and supply expenses Write and manage labor schedules to meet business needs Submit orders and manage inventory for both departments, avoiding out-of-stocks and overstock that may lead to waste Maintain, replenish, and rotate displays to ensure visual appeal and freshness Package, label, and verify signage and pricing accuracy for all self-service items Cut and prepare meat and seafood products to Joseph's specifications Operate and maintain knives, scales, band saws, grinders, wrapping machines, steamers, and other department equipment Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and prep surfaces consistently Take and fulfill special orders for customers Assist with other duties as assigned by store leadership Qualifications:

Prior experience in meat, seafood, grocery, or food service leadership preferred Proven ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and hold team members accountable Strong understanding of profit and loss management and income statements Keen attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and follow instructions accurately Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills Passion for serving others and delivering a premium food experience A Meat and Seafood Department Manager performs their tasks primarily in the Meat and Seafood departments. Must have the ability to clearly articulate the company's goals and follow up on tasks and projects to achieve those goals. Must be able to resolve conflicts and promote a positive environment where all department associates enjoy coming to work. Work involves walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting products weighing up to 80 pounds. Work may be done inside Meat preparation room and Meat Refrigerated Cooler, you will be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work also includes frequent interaction with customers and fellow employees.
