Summary:

Running Rebels Community Organization is seeking a dynamic individual to serve young people whose needs go far beyond the traditional mentoring approach of companionship, confidence-building and typical academic, social or career guidance. This individual will meet regularly with youth to develop personal transition plans and provide mentoring pre-release and up to one-year post-release.

Responsibilities:

Attend Credible Messenger and Professional Community Intervention Training Institute Training. Provide transformative mentoring to youth with a focus on helping them make better choices, avoid further/future involvement in the justice system, manage conflict, goal setting, connection to community resources, connection to employment opportunities, and anything needed for them to be successful at home, at school, and in the community. Participate in cross agency activities and events. Provide transportation as needed. Conduct Staffings for youth who were demonstrating high risk behavior with an Administrative Coordinator, Credible Messenger Supervisor and Credible Messenger. Attend child/family team meetings coordinated by the Human Service Worker (HSW) or initiated by the Credible Messenger Staffings should also include the HSW, and case plans should align with GFCM and the youth's existing case plan. Conduct team planning and execution for high-risk situations using the Community Crisis Response Protocol. Develop goals based on the individualized case plan for program participants. Meet or exceed the minimum contact standards as prescribed. Assist with RRCO community and agency events.

Requirements:

Strong problem solving/conflict resolution skills. Detail and team oriented. Committed to ongoing growth and personal development. Experience with online documentation systems, Microsoft Outlook Associate or bachelor's degree in related field is desired but not required. Automobile, Valid driver's license, and automobile insurance Two years of experience working with youth aged 12-21 years old.
