Planner II, Planner III, and Senior Planner Opportunities

These roles directly support the town`s long-range planning goals, zoning ordinance administration, and major development projects. Each position plays a role in managing development reviews, presenting to elected bodies, coordinating with outside agencies, and engaging the public. From supporting affordable housing programs to implementing the Town`s Comprehensive Plan and Transportation Plan, these planners shape the future of the community. Higher-level roles also contribute to policy creation, process improvement, and departmental leadership.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
Bachelor`s degree in Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field (AICP certification preferred or required at the Senior level). Experience in local government, land development review, long-range planning, or transportation planning. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with elected officials, developers, staff, and the public. Familiarity with GIS tools, zoning ordinances, development codes, and technical reports. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate across departments, and communicate with stakeholders. Supervisor experience and grant management experience are a plus at higher levels.
