Summary The Product Owner, Report Generation and Release Platforms play a critical role in shaping how clinically meaningful, compliant, and user-friendly reports are generated and transmitted to clients. This is a cross-functional role that supports the development and optimization of reporting workflows for genomic tests, driving efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence. Job Responsibilities Understand Business domain knowledge and operational knowledge to support the delivery of prioritized programs and projects within the GeneDx Product Pillars. Own and prioritize product backlogs for internal and third-party applications—optimizing existing features, enabling new capabilities, and ensuring system alignment with operational goals, regulatory compliance, and user needs. Lead discovery and requirements gathering with cross-functional stakeholders across Laboratory Operations, Clinical teams, Data Engineering, and Quality/Regulatory. Partner with Engineering and cross-functional teams to design workflows and interfaces that are audit-ready, clinically accurate, optimized for efficiency and usability, and observable. Define milestones, epics, and stories on approved projects and determine delivery timelines based on scope, dependencies, and priorities. Proactively report on progress, timelines, and roadblocks to stakeholders through written and oral presentations. Create core product documentation including PRDs, annotated wireframes, workflow diagrams, UAT scripts, and performance dashboards. Lead agile ceremonies including story writing, backlog grooming, sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives to drive alignment and unblock delivery. Orchestrate operational work with innovation and improvement work priorities, and proactively adjust timelines. Define, track, and analyze KPIs related to operational performance, user engagement, and system reliability, and report progress to stakeholders. Collaborate with Engineering and clinical experts to deliver context-sensitive, automation-enabled tools for clinical report generation and release. Serve as the subject matter expert on the flow of data from interpretation tools into clinical reports and systems utilized for report release. People Manager This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Education, Experience, and Skills Minimum 2–3 years of experience in product ownership, product management, or workflow/process optimization within a regulated, complex operations environment Experience in Software Engineering development practices, such as SDLC, SCRUM, AGILE Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or experience in clinical/diagnostic labs strongly preferred Strong systems thinking: ability to design and optimize multi-user workflows across digital and physical touchpoints Working knowledge of laboratory workflows, automation systems, LIMS platforms, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, CLIA, CAP, NYS, FDA) Proven success partnering with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, UX, Operations, QA/RA, and Medical Experience translating complex requirements into clear, actionable user stories and product specs Familiarity with agile methodologies, iterative product delivery, and human-centered design principles Excellent communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills Mission-driven mindset and a sense of ownership for building systems that improve healthcare delivery Certificates, Licenses, Registrations There are no special Certificates, Licenses or Registrations needed for this position.
