Telemetry Monitor Technician
In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and interpreting cardiac telemetry data, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with nursing and medical staff to provide high-quality care. Functions of Position: Monitoring: Continuously observe cardiac rhythm telemetry for assigned patients, identifying any abnormal patterns or arrhythmias. Analysis: Accurately interpret ECG readings and document significant findings in real-time. Communication: Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to communicate findings, escalate critical issues, and provide timely updates on patient conditions. Documentation: Maintain precise records of cardiac events, interventions, and patient statuses in accordance with hospital protocols. Quality Control: Participate in routine audits of telemetry data to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and protocols. Training & Support: Assist in training new staff on monitoring equipment and protocols as needed. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to alarms and alerts, taking appropriate actions according to established guidelines. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare or related field preferred. Certification as a Basic Life Support (BLS) provider. Certification in a Basic Arrythmia Course or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Previous experience as a telemetry monitor technician or in a related healthcare role preferred. Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac rhythms. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Working Conditions: May require working shifts, including nights and weekends. Exposure to a hospital environment, including the use of medical equipment. This is primarily a desk-based position requiring prolonged periods of sitting and focused attention to screens. May involve occasional stress due to high-stakes situations or urgent patient needs.
