The Hardware Warehouse Assistant supports the daily operations of the maintenance hardware warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory of tools, spare parts, fasteners, fittings, and other maintenance-related components. This role plays a critical part in supporting plant reliability by organizing materials, assisting with inventory control, and fulfilling internal work order requests efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
Receive, label, and organize incoming hardware supplies and parts into designated storage areas.
Maintain accurate inventory records of hardware and supplies using warehouse management or ERP systems.
Issue requested parts and tools to maintenance, production, and engineering teams according to internal work orders.
Monitor stock levels and assist in preparing reorder requests for low or critical inventory items.
Support cycle counting and periodic physical inventory processes.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment according to 5S principles.
Inspect and report damaged or incorrect shipments to the supervisor.
Assist in locating hard-to-find items and coordinating special orders.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment as needed (with proper certification).
Comply with safety policies and procedures in all material handling activities.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required.
1+ year of experience in a warehouse or inventory control role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Experience handling industrial hardware or maintenance parts is a plus.
Skills: Familiarity with basic hardware, tools, fittings, and mechanical components.
Basic computer skills; experience with ERP or inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically active work.
Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, and use hands for sorting or organizing parts.
Warehouse and maintenance shop environment; may be exposed to noise, dust, or temperature fluctuations.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
