Summary
Our client is currently seeking individuals for a full-time position as a
Mechanical Project Engineer
located in the San Diego, CA area. Backed by nearly a century of customer care and ownership, our client adheres to the highest safety standards for employees and clients. They offer industry-leading building information modeling (BIM) capabilities, design/build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC services, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations. Responsibilities
Project Estimating (Take-Off & Analysis) Project Scheduling (Manpower scheduling) Manage RFIs (Requests for Information) Prepare Submittal Packages Manage flow of contractor-provided submittal data Assist in data population of forms Prepare Project Progress Billings Assist in technical analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of HVAC air equipment, piping equipment systems, HVAC & plumbing equipment Skills and Experience
Basic working knowledge of HVAC & Plumbing Design & System Operation Basic working knowledge of commercial & industrial construction sequences Basic working knowledge of construction estimating Basic working knowledge of testing procedures for HVAC systems Basic working knowledge of ASHRAE data & guidelines Average proficiency with MS Project scheduling program Average proficiency with MS Access or other database programs Above average proficiency with MS Excel & Word Above average proficiency with Internet Above average verbal & written communication skills Strong organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil, Industrial, or Structural Engineering, and/or 5 years of industry experience as a Construction Project Engineer. Candidates should demonstrate experience with project administration, scheduling, productivity analysis, cost control, and procurement of equipment & materials.
