Overview

The Clinical Educator is a licensed nurse who serves as the central leader for clinical orientation and training for nursing staff at Duncaster. While the role maintains a strong clinical focus to support Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living, it also ensures that staff receive the education required to meet regulatory requirements, enhance service delivery, and promote a culture of learning and excellence. This position reports directly to the COO and collaborates with the administrator and clinical leadership at the health center and assisted living for training initiatives.

Essential Functions

Leads clinical orientation and skills training for RNs, LPNs and CNAs in Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living. Develops and implements competency-based training programs for nursing staff, including medication administration, infection prevention, restorative care, and documentation best practices. Delivers and maintains CPR/BLS certification courses and IV therapy instruction for licensed staff. Coordinates all required in-service education to maintain compliance with CMS, DPH, OSHA, HIPPA standards. Supports Facilities and HR departments with emergency preparedness drills and education to meet regulatory standards for all staff. Maintains accurate training records for survey readiness and audits. Monitors training compliance and provides timely reports to the Administrator and leadership team. Coordinates with academic institutions to manage the placement, orientation and supervision of nursing and CAN students during clinical rotations. Collaborates with Department Directors and the QAPI team to assess training needs and implement corrective education following incident trends or survey deficiencies. Contributes to interdisciplinary efforts to improve staff retention, morale and performance through training and mentorship. Participate in safety committees, staff development task forces, or related initiatives. Administers the organization's Learning Management System (Relias) to assign, monitor, and report on clinical training. Develops or curates training materials using adult learning principles and multiple delivery methods (in-person, e-learning, hands-on). Education and Experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the State of Connecticut. Bachelor's degree in nursing, Health Education, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 3 years' clinical experience is required. A minimum of 1 years' experience in staff education or training and development is required. BLS/CPR Instructor certification required or willing to obtain within 6 months. IV certification preferred. Strong facilitation and interpersonal communication skills. Familiarity with state/federal regulatory requirements for long-term care and senior living. Ability to work collaboratively across clinical and non-clinical departments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and LMS platforms. Environment and Working Conditions

Ability to focus on task needs and perform intellectual executive functions as related to the functions of the business operation. Ability to execute intellectual tasks and duties under conditions of high demand and distraction. Ability to complete the essential functions of the position with or with adaptive personal devices (e.g., hearing aid, corrective lenses). Ability to operate equipment and technology required for the position. Must be able to communicate effectively. Able to assist with the evacuation of residents under emergency status to the best of their physical ability. Able to function independently with integrity and work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies. Able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Able to occasionally push and/or pull a force of up to 7 pounds as relates to file cart. Able to reach overhead, bend, and occasionally carry or lift up to 25 pounds. Hours

Part-time, 16-20 hours per week (9:00am-5:00pm, 2x per week), occasional evenings.

Pay

$55,000.00 per year
