BACKGROUND
REST exists to provide pathways to freedom, safety, and hope for victims of sex trafficking and people involved in the sex trade. REST offers programs that are centered on the strengths, needs and individual choices of each survivor we serve. We offer a continuum of care that includes outreach, a 24/7 hotline, community advocates, a drop in center, an economic empowerment program, emergency shelter, residential program, and housing services. We are inspired by our faith as a Christian organization, are dedicated to serving people of all faith backgrounds, and do not require faith engagement. ROLE SUMMARY
REST is seeking compassionate and skilled therapists with the expertise in complex trauma to provide trauma-informed clinical services to survivors of exploitation and trafficking. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with histories of chronic trauma, dissociation, and PTSD, utilizing evidence-based and survivor-centered approaches.
REST's Mental Health Therapists will work in collaboration with REST's direct service teams to support the healing and empowerment of REST clients. The Mental Health Therapists will offer individual and group-based therapy services. The Mental Health Therapists will work out of REST's Pathways Service Center, located in Rainier Valley, and offer both in-person and over the phone sessions.
COMPENSATION
$80-$150 per hour depending on experience.
REST has adopted a wage scale as part of its compensation plan. A range indicates the intention to accommodate those with varying years of relevant experienced, as determined by the salary scale.
SCHEDULE
25-30 hours a week. This position typically works Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
LOCATION
This position with work remotely as well as onsite at REST's office located in South Seattle
RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet with clients to assess their medical histories, mental health strengths, needs, and goals and enroll in services Provide individual sessions, both in person, and over the phone, to REST clients Provide evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, TF-CBT, DBT, or somatic therapies to address trauma-related symptoms. Plan, lead, and facilitate one group session each week Provide referral assistance to assist clients with accessing mental health services in the community Utilize a strengths-based, client-centered, trauma-focused, services-integrated, and culturally competent approach Provide culturally responsive care, with awareness in regards to power dynamics, privilege, and common barriers faces by marginalized communities Identify and respond to crises that may negatively impact treatment and create plans to prevent future crises Work closely with supervisors, advocates and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care Provide consultation and training to staff on trauma-informed practices and complex trauma responses Oversee mental health interns with clinical supervision and schedule coordination Model and facilitate healthy and constructive conflict resolution for team and clients Self-regulate when experiencing triggers, trauma-responses, or stressors in order to stay engaged, productive and meet the needs of the team and clients Fulfill reporting requirements, including, but not limited to: maintaining current and accurate case notes and treatment plans for each client in REST's client management software Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must believe in the core values of REST and be driven by the mission. Beyond that, we are seeking applicants with knowledge of mental health services. LMHC, LICSW, LMHCA, LSWAIC required Must have malpractice insurance At least 2 years working with clients with complex trauma, PTSD, or survivors of trafficking/ interpersonal violence Strong understanding of neurobiology of trauma, dissociation, and trauma-specific modalities Exhibits a warm and welcoming demeanor, with confidence in communication Strong communication, interpersonal and professional skills Ability to build a cohesive working relationship among a diverse team Alignment with the REST values of Belonging, Trustworthiness, Tenacity, and Honor Ability to work in harmony with the REST statement of faith and nurture the spiritual health of the team Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Must have reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and clean driving record Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and move up and down stairs
CONTRACT CONDITIONS
This is a contract position through December 2025. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits. The role involves both routine and complex interpersonal interactions and may require flexibility in response to organizational needs. Work is performed on-site and may include sitting, standing, driving, and use of computers and communication tools.
