We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager, responsible for working with the engineering team to manage product design, development, cost and manufacturability. This position supports the overall business growth initiatives and operational efficiency as well as maintaining unsurpassed quality. The Engineering Manager will routinely work with the Manufacturing and Sales departments to design and implement new product development and improvements to existing products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the design process of Valves, Fittings and Related Products by employing product design best practices. Review and approve product designs created by others for manufacturability or completeness Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes. Determine root causes of failures and recommends changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods Use appropriate techniques to manage changes in project scope, scheduling and costs Ensure that products retain utmost quality whilst remaining attentive and dedicated to cost and manufacturability Manage and report on testing of new and existing products to meet operational requirements and/or customer specifications Perform flow and stress analysis calculations for various product applications Update and create new 3D models and drawing from paper and AutoCAD, using SolidWorks Provide technical information in report form to customers when required Reverse engineer mechanical parts Able to interpret and analyze statistical data and financial reports, understand and resolve technical difficulties, interface with internal experts and manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment setting Supervise the design engineering team Establish and maintain relationships with internal resources, customers, and vendors Qualifications:
10+ years experience as a mechanical/design engineer Minimum of 5 years of related industry experience Education: Minimum of BS in Mechanical Engineering Flexible and able to multitask; can work within a dynamic, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions Experience with fluid power or fluid control systems Skills:
Creativity Critical Thinking Complex Problem Solving Solid Judgment and Decision-Making Capability Technical Writing Skills Ability to work with complex calculations Able to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports Familiarity with Solidworks Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities Must possess the personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to company success Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to move around the plant is essential for this position Must be able to lift 40 pounds Noise environment can be loud at times, must be able to wear proper PPE Benefits:
