Project Manager

The Project Manager - Helene/Milton Response will oversee CORE's operations in southern Georgia including resource navigation and home repair projects funded through donors and CORE's funds. The role will involve supporting vulnerable and underserved communities, ensuring they access vital recovery resources, and connecting with NGOs and agencies to support marginalized groups affected by the disaster. The Project Manager will play a critical role in building a coalition of recovery partners, organizing disaster recovery events, and identifying homes and communities for possible repair assistance.
Main Responsibilities:
Provide leadership in representing CORE with stakeholders, partners, donors and the community CORE serves Provide leadership in the conception and planning especially as CORE transitions from relief phase to medium/long term operations. General programming ideas that can be converted to proposals to new and existing donors Oversee and provide coordination in donor management, especially schedule and organize site visits. Assist in development, verification, and submission of programmatic and financial reports Oversee the implementation of home repair Projects in line with CORE's mission to support recovery efforts for marginalized communities affected by Hurricane Helene/Milton. Collaborate with NGOs, government agencies, and local organizations to compile and share resources with resource navigators, ensuring marginalized communities receive critical recovery support. Build and foster partnerships with recovery-focused organizations to create a network of support for communities impacted by the hurricane. Organize disaster recovery events addressing the specific needs of marginalized groups, such as addressing disaster trauma, legal aid, food insecurity, rent/utility assistance, and home repairs. Track Project metrics, gather data on Project performance, and prepare reports for CORE's leadership and emergency response teams. Collaborate with leadership to identify further funding opportunities and support the continuation of Programming beyond the 9-month funding period. Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and any applicable local, state, or federal laws related to Project activities. Assist in collecting unmet needs and act as an advocate to gather missing resources. Develop procedures for data collection, management, and quality control to track the impact of recovery efforts. Other duties as assigned Scope and Travel:
Direct Reports: 2 (Community Mobilizer and Finance and Data Analyst Travel: Primarily within Valdosta Georgia; potential additional travel to nearby communities as needed. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, emergency management, or related fields. Or 5 years of relevant experience in disaster recovery, Project management, or community outreach, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Experience:
Strong management and organizational skills with the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, and community organizations. Proficiency in data collection and reporting for Project performance. Demonstrated experience working with low-income communities, particularly in disaster recovery initiatives. Experience in navigating the FEMA application and appeals process Skills & Competencies:
Experience working in disaster recovery Projects, particularly roofing or home repairs. Familiarity with community-based organizations and a strong understanding of the recovery challenges faced by marginalized communities. Demonstrated ability to identify funding opportunities and develop ideas for grant applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, for data tracking and reporting.
