TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Software QA Engineer I to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Software QA Engineer I will be responsible for testing software for reliability, creating test cases, assist with developing test scripts, and ensure defects are properly identified, tracked, and documented.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manual QA Testing Write, execute and maintain software test cases for both automated and manual testing. Provide test support for automation functionality.
Log bugs/issues via an issue tracking tool and help determine priority of reported bugs. Provide clear test artifact documentation on test case execution results. Report the test progress and issues found during team meetings. Recommend possible root causes of the issue. Collaborate with Test and Dev team for solutions.
Coordinate with QA Manager throughout SDLC process to ensure the correct test and defect status are identified. End-to-end system integration testing (including physical hardware devices, backend database applications, and web-based frontend user interfaces). Maintenance test support. Support software release smoke, sanity and regression testing.
Handle special projects or other duties as may be required from time to time. Education
:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in in Computer Science or Engineering and/or equivalent proven work experience
Required Skills & Experience:
Maintains a professional image and adheres to standards consistent with company policies and procedures. Minimum of 1 year of experience in software Quality Assurance, software test engineering or software development. Ability to perform in a fast paced, high-pressure environment. Experience with Gherkin language for Cucumber automation tool a plus. Experience in Agile SCRUM, and DevOps is a plus. Experience testing customer-facing website, mobile app and payment processing. Experience testing 3rd party interfaces (DMV lookup, money service providers, Mailhouse etc). Experience testing cloud-based applications or distributed systems. Experience with communication tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Skype, etc. Expert proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, OneNote, and Google Docs. Experience testing for PCI/PII compliance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of Software QA best practices and methodologies. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with branch, regional and corporate personnel. Desired Skills:
Experience in Tolling industry a plus. Experience with Hardware testing preferred. Experience with test automation a plus. Experience with measuring live system performance a plus.
