9am -6:30pm, Tue 8am to 4:30pm, Wed 8am
3:30pm, Thu 8am to 4:30pm, Fri 8am -4:30pm & one Saturday per month 9am to 1:30pm Location: 630 E North Ave, Carol Stream, IL The role you'll contribute: The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider. Performs office duties as needed; which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays and scheduling necessary appointments. The value you'll bring to the team: Assist with screenings per physician orders and enters all information accurately and at the time of service or results Performs clinical intake according to AHMG policy and procedures May be responsible for assisting with minor procedures associated with specialty May be required to travel as needed to fulfill staffing needs Safety/Whole care Must maintain education requirements for position and demonstrate competency, as required Is responsible for maintaining OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office compliance Follows safety processes and policies to ensure appropriate care is given Provides and ensures patients receive whole care in all aspects of an office visit, regarding intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, closure of care gaps and all aspects necessary following AHMG policies. Efficiency Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patient and equipment for the needed treatment and initiates testing and documents results into the practice's designated system when appropriate. Clinical competencies must be passed annually May include written test Must stay up to date and familiar with all policies Qualifications The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed: High School Grad or Equiv Required Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology Knowledge of chronic disease management Knowledge of and ability to utilize internal and external resources Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems Ability to function and assist others in stressful, fast-paced environments and effectively apply stress management techniques Ability to resolve issues and work independently within the scope of their certification Ability to exercise sound judgement, diplomacy and a professional demeanor Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements Experience with computers required Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Required Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Required or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)-NCTT Required or NAHP Nat'l Reg Cert Med Asst (NAHPCMA) Required This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
