Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology Equity Research Analyst
The Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology Equity Research team covers both large and small biopharmaceutical companies that develop and sell products in almost all disease areas, both US and internationally. The lead analyst is top three ranked in the relevant Institutional Investor ("I.I.") polls. A new hire will work alongside the lead analyst and existing team members and participate in all aspects of the research process. This position has a requirement of being in the NY office (Bryant Park, NYC) on average of 4 days per week (exact days during the week flexible). Examples of specific activities and duties include: Collect and analyze different data streams Build financial models to forecast sales for key pharmaceutical products, forecast company earnings, and determine company valuations Write industry and company reports Develop doctor/patient surveys and conduct interviews with industry stakeholders to understand market dynamics, demand and future projections Build relationships and facilitate information flow with industry contacts, and contacts at covered companies Monitor news flow and highlight stock-impacting updates to the rest of the team Interact with sales, trading and external clients Qualification: Candidate must have 2+ years of experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry
examples include working directly for biopharmaceutical companies, or at consulting firms with such companies as clients, or in the field of finance focused on healthcare (e.g. buy-side, sell-side, investment banking) Bachelor's Degree with a science-focused major or equivalent years of experience (advanced degrees are a plus, but not required) Must have excellent communications skills Strong writing abilities Basic financial modeling skills Good working familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint Must have strong attention to detail; the ability to multi-task; and work well in a collaborative team environment Pay range $110,000.00 - $175,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set. Discretionary incentive eligible This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
