Community Health Engagement Coordinator
Assists in developing programs that address health care and health care education needs of communities served. Conducts research and assessments to determine community needs. Develops and nurtures relationships with community stakeholders and others to identify underserved and at-risk populations. Plans, organizes and conducts community engagement programs, including community-based education, health care needs assessments, health screenings, testing, mass vaccination and other health care-related programs. Plans and coordinates the resources and tasks necessary for operations; manages the administrative details and day-to-day operations related to community engagement programs in conjunction with the Tri-County Health Network and coalition. Establishes effective working relationships with health care organizations, civic organizations, special interest groups, community stakeholders, Tri-County Health Network Board, local coalitions and others to assess opportunities for engagement services. Continually assesses community needs; maintains an up-to-date summary of needs and opportunities for community engagement events. Collaborates with MUSC Health clinical and administrative leaders and staff to plan and prepare for community events; provides direct support and assistance on logistical matters necessary for smooth operation of engagement events. Prepares reports to summarize work activities including engagement events and related initiatives. Serves on committees and task forces as assigned. Performs a variety of administrative tasks including scheduling of meetings; preparation of meeting summaries or minutes; invoice payments; travel reimbursement preparation; Monday reporting; SuccessFactors completion, including goals; and other related tasks. Additional Job Description: Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Health Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, Communication, Social Work or related degree and three years of experience related to health care, community relations, or similar experience; or a bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Health Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, Communication, Social Work or related degree and five years of experience related to health care, community relations, or similar experience. Excellent communication and organizational skills are needed. Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with others is essential.
