Sponsored Relations Student Advisor And Programming Coordinator
Penn State Global's Sponsored Relations office, in International Student & Scholar Advising, is seeking a dedicated student-centered Sponsored Relations Student Advisor and Programming Coordinator to join the team. This role supports the Assistant Director of Sponsored Relations and the Sponsored Student Community through scholarship advising, event coordination, student life support, and providing support for sponsor organization requirements. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Monitoring the academic progress and compliance of sponsored student platforms such as Starfish, Elevate, iStart (SUNAPSIS), and LionPATH. They will facilitate in-person or virtual advising sessions to help students meet academic, sponsorship, and immigration standards. They will assist sponsored students in understanding their scholarship requirements and help address housing concerns. Working with Academic Advisers to manage program changes, dual majors, and ensure alignment with sponsor guidelines. They will act as a liaison with the colleges' Academic Advising units, facilitating communication, sharing updates on sponsor policies, and providing support for sponsored student matters. Developing programs that provide pre-arrival information, on-site orientation, and annual workshops, in collaboration with other PSU Global offices, meant to align PSU policies with those of sponsors to help students navigate academic challenges. Additionally, the position includes planning and coordinating student engagement events. Suppling documentation to sponsorship advisers upon request. Responsibilities include managing the transcript ordering process, creating campus and enrollment reports, preparing tailored verifications, and handling various inquiries. Additionally, the position supports students and sponsors by monitoring the Sponsored Relations inbox and ensuring all email and phone requests are addressed or appropriately redirected. Supporting the SRSARC in supervising a part-time student employee, providing support with office tasks through weekly check-ins, delegating assignments, and monitoring progress. Additionally, the position will manage the SSLP, holding regular meetings to coordinate student activities and overseeing the budget to ensure it aligns with the allocations made by Sponsored Relations. This position is filled at the Advanced Professional level. Minimum Education, Work Experience & Required Certifications: Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Certifications: None. The position is primarily a student-serving role focused on supporting the sponsored student community through scholarship advising, event coordination, student life initiatives, and sponsorship support. They contribute to every aspect of Sponsored Students' scholarship and academic careers from the day they step on campus to degree completion. While this position is based at University Park, it will also serve the Sponsored Student Community across all campuses. The Sponsored Relations Student Adviser and Program Coordinator will be expected to travel at least once a semester to Harrisburg, Altoona, Erie, Abington, and Berks to support localized sponsored students. Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
