Hpc Systems Administrator
Apex Systems is looking for an HPC Systems Administrator to support one of our Government Integration clients in the Monterey, CA area. A Top Secret clearance is a hard requirement! Title: HPC Systems Administrator Location: Monterey, CA (Onsite Daily M-F) Clearance: TS/SCI Contract Length: 12 months renewed annually for up to 5 years The Consultant will work entirely at the direction of the customer to assist in Compute System Administration support while serving as a member of the team at the Customer's location. The Consultant will work with the support of the Customer's staff to provide critical information, as well as direction related to task prioritization. Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to, the following: Performance Cluster Manager (HPCM) and Parallel File Storage System (PFSS) system administration Responsible for the normal day-to-day administrative operation and maintenance of the provided systems. Provide on-going performance analysis, performance tuning for Customer's implemented environment and recommendations for future architectures. Escalate issues and problems to client Support and/or Engineering as necessary. Deploying and maintaining high performance communications fabrics Assist with the identification, troubleshooting, and repair of software problems impacting performance of implemented solution. Assist with the Installation of Customer's designated and properly licensed software patches and upgrade software/firmware as mutually agreed. Assist with the resolution of software trouble tickets and software problems identified by Customer's Systems and users. Resources shall intercede on Customers behalf if any hardware or software malfunctions or misbehaves and interact with service personnel when repairs are necessary. Respond to Customer's designated software trouble tickets and software problems identified by Customer's designated system administrators and users. Skill Requirements: Highly developed Linux system admin skills a must. Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to implement and scope multiple deliverables across several technologies. Mostly High-Performance clusters and storage solutions. Cluster manager solutions knowledge, install and use plus, deep breadth of knowledge in Linux sys admin skills. Able to communicate with internal and external senior management confidently and demonstrate the professionalism of the job.
