Cytotechnologist (Medical Lab)
Sign-On Bonus of $12,500 to Eligible Applicant Performs highly specialized and complex testing that involves the microscopic screening and evaluation of cytologic specimens for the detection of cancer and other pathologic conditions. Performs thorough and accurate microscopic evaluation of gynecologic Pap tests using recognized cytomorphologic criteria to make cytological interpretations and correlates findings with patient clinical data according to established laboratory procedures. Performs thorough and accurate microscopic evaluation of non-gynecologic, fine needle aspiration and consult cellular samples using recognized cytomorphologic criteria to make cytological interpretations and correlates findings with patient clinical data according to established laboratory procedures. Accurately records all appropriate specimen and results data for cases screened by self in the Beaker computer system in accordance with established laboratory procedures. Provides technical support for the fine needle aspiration service. Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory quality assurance, safety and compliance programs and performs tasks within those guidelines. Engages in technical processing, preparation, staining, and cover slipping of cytological specimens as assigned and within appropriate timeframes. Performs area-specific support/clinical activities. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Position Compensation Range: $33.27 - $53.23 Hourly MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's of Science Degree required. Experience: No experience required. Licensure: CT (ASCP) certified or eligible (or equivalent under CLIA). PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting, standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling; Repetitive motion: (microscopic screening).
