Facilities Security Coordinator Wage

Hiring Range: $25.44 to $41.33 Full Time or Part Time: Part_Time Location: 811 Commerce Road, Staunton, Virginia, United States, 24401 Closing at: Aug 13 2025 - 00:00 EDT Employer: VA Dept of Transportation Maintain district's site and building security operations. Manage district's security and fire alarm systems; and oversee granting of defined access to district facilities. Manage outsourced janitorial and fire extinguisher services. Perform special duties as assigned. Contract Administration: Assist in administering the contract for security guard services. Ensure other assigned contracts are up-to-date and written to include meet business needs. Address and resolve non-compliance issues on the part of the vendor in a timely manner and maintain documentation. Coordinate the Critical Infrastructure Information and Sensitive Security Information Program: Coordinate and inspect the installation and maintenance of VDOT Infrastructure Physical Security Enhancement Program security hardware and infrastructure projects, including fencing, alarm systems and video surveillance systems. District Security and Training: Coordinate and conduct the on-going training of security topics, i.e. Terrorism and Security Awareness, Annual Fire Extinguisher Training, etc. Conduct compliance reviews. Investigate security violations, thefts, and other suspicious activities. Coordinate with local and State Police as appropriate. Perform duties as assigned. Security Program Administration: Participate in the development of district policies. Ensure compliance with VDOT and district policies and procedures. Coordinate and inspect the installation and maintenance of access control systems and the Access and Identification Card program to include issuing, replacing and deleting AIC Cards for employees and contractors. Assist in overseeing the district's Emergency Action Plan, Continuity of Operations Plan and Evacuation Plan. Ability to oversee technical and administrative details associated with providing security operations and emergency services. Knowledge of contract management and procurement principles. Knowledge of security operations involving the nature and types of emergency services required in natural and man-made disasters. Ability to coordinate technical and administrative details associated with providing security operations and emergency services. Knowledge of contract management and procurement practices. Knowledge of security operations involving the nature and types of emergency services required in natural and man-made disasters. Skill in project management and time management techniques. Valid driver's license. A combination of training, experience, or education in Business Administration, Security Operations, Emergency Operations or related field desired. Department of Criminal Justice Services certification desired. Progressively responsible experience in emergency planning and emergency and security operations. VDOT employees must abide by VDOTs Code of Ethics and the Commonwealths Standards of Conduct.
