Manager - Technical Accounting & Reporting
This is a hybrid position - working out of our Chicago, IL office. Responsible for researching, interpreting, and applying US GAAP accounting standards
most critically, ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases), supporting internal/external audit and compliance activities, and working cross-functionally to ensure the company's accounting practices remain accurate, up-to-date, and scalable. Responsibilities: Review of significant contracts with customers to ensure ongoing compliance with ASC 606 Provide management oversight over the shared service center's accounting for leases in accordance with ASC 842 Support the preparation of goodwill impairment assessments in accordance with ASC 350 Provide accounting support for non-routine and complex transactions, including, but not limited to, business combinations, sale leasebacks, and derivatives Research and analyze complex accounting issues; prepare technical accounting memos and white papers documenting key judgments and accounting positions in accordance with US GAAP Collaborate and coordinate with external auditors, legal, tax, FP&A, and business stakeholders on various technical matters Draft new accounting policies and maintain the Company's accounting policy database Monitor FASB accounting pronouncements and ensure timely adoption and implementation Participate in month-end and quarterly general ledger activities including account analysis, journal entries, and review of balance sheet reconciliations Qualifications: Bachelor degree in related field with 6 years of relevant work experience Master's degree in Accounting preferred CPA strongly preferred Strong understanding of US GAAP Exceptional technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment Experience managing one or more direct reports Experience working at or with publicly traded companies Additional Information: All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. RRD's current salary range for this role is $105,900 to $169,500 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
