Accountant Assistant

The Accountant Assistant reports to the on-site Associa General Manager and interfaces with other Associa staff located locally as well as in other corporate offices. This position also interacts with members of the Board of Directors as well as with members of the Finance Committee for Sun City Carolina Lakes Community Association (SCCLCA). This position is responsible for numerous accounting activities from invoice coding to the review and correction of the month-end financial statements. Review of pending invoices in Associa's C3 Strongroom to ensure that the general ledger account, fund and description are correct. Ensure that invoices are paid from the correct bank accounts. Monitor invoices, checking for duplicates before payment is made. Monitor bank balances and suggest the need for funds or transfer excess funds to investment accounts. Prepare the reclassification entry for the monthly Associa credit card billing. Prepare the reclassification entry for the non-event sales received in VBO (Fitness Revenue & Visor Clip sales) Prepare a monthly accrual entry for unpaid standard contract invoices. Download the paid invoice file to excel at month end. Prepare the monthly investment Walkacross report. Review the month end preliminary financial statements and prepare and submit journal entries to the Corporate Associa staff. Review the month end final financial statements to ensure all entries were made correctly. Prepare account analysis on various balance sheet accounts and resolve issues. Payroll analysis and projection. Prepare monthly analysis of home sale reserve collection to ensure that the correct fees have been collected on all home sales. Prepare financial analysis as requested. Prepare, file and pay monthly Admissions Tax. Prepare, file and pay quarterly Sales & Use Tax. Prepare and submit information requested from external auditors for annual audit. Prepare annual budgets and forecasts as requested by the Board of Directors. Update and maintain asset tracking system in Workhub. Minimum of an associate degree in Account, preferably a bachelor's degree in accounting. Minimum of 2 years' experience preparing financial statements and journal entries. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Effective oral and written management communication skills.
