GENERAL SUMMARY

: This position is responsible for performing cleaning duties for Tremont Street Garage with cashiering responsibilities as needed. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

: Cleans garage, office, stairwells, and elevators. Removes debris such as loose paper, cans and bottles throughout garage area and stairwells. Empties trash receptacles in garage, office, bathrooms, and replaces with fresh bags. Using cleaning solvents, cleans bathrooms including sinks and commodes. Replenishes supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, and soap) as necessary. Using gas powered sweeper, sweeps and cleans front entrance area of garage. Cleans elevators by shining chrome, spraying walls and washing floors. Collects parking tickets and refunds appropriate change especialy during peak periods. Answers garage patrons' requests for information courteously. Performs other related duties when requested by supervisor III.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

:

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Ability to read, write, count and speak basic English, as well as follow basic instructions. Ability to drive and operate sweeper machine. Ability to operate cash register and count money: Attention to detail necessary when handling money and giving change. EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED preferred. EXPERIENCE: . One to two months on the job training. An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
