Surveillance Officer: P&P District #15 Roanoke #P1581 Locations: Roanoke, Virginia, United States, Salem, Virginia, United States, 24153 Division: Div of Community Corrections Role: Public Safety Employment Type: Full-Time (Salaried) Closing Date: Aug 8 2025 - 23:55 EDT Agency: Dept of Corr - Central Admin Title: Surveillance Officer: P&P District #15 Roanoke #P1581 State Role Title: Probation Officer Assistant Hiring Range: $36,189.00 - $48,224.00 Pay Band: 3 Job Duties Position contributes to the agency's public safety mission by providing supervision and monitoring of probationers from Courts and the Parole Board in accordance with DOC standards; to enhance public safety through supervision, follow-up, and the use of community resources, and commitment or re-commitment if necessary. Minimum Qualifications Working knowledge of surveillance and investigative techniques. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Automated Databases. Demonstrated experience to collect pertinent information from a variety of sources, maintain logs, and document discussions with inmates, or probationers in a human service setting. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Working knowledge of an electronic, voice monitoring system &/or anytrax. Valid Virginia Drivers License. Additional Considerations Experience working with case management computer applications. Demonstrated experience making referrals to community resources. The selected candidate must be eligible and successfully obtain required VCIN certification.
