Job Summary
This position is devoted to successfully overseeing the many aspects of the lesson reservation system and guest experience at Bear Valley Mountain Resort. This team member is responsible for providing knowledgeable and friendly sales and service from the first point of contact with the resort. This role is responsible for managing the Lesson Desk phone, email account, selling same day lessons/tickets/rentals, and greeting people as they arrive at the resort. A successful member of this team will understand and appreciate the opportunity to provide exceptional guest experiences and work hard to consistently exceed customer, managerial and colleagues' expectations.

Create opportunities to invite new guests to join a ski and/or board lesson Effectively communicate with guests about product types, changing pricing, and product offerings Provide timely and accurate information about products purchased and prepare guests for their first (and subsequent) visits to the resort Provide pre- and post-sales support through phone calls and email communication Create, source and share materials with new guests to prepare them for their first visit Assist guests with enquiries, directions and other resort information Cooperate with marketing, rentals, ticket sales, and other departments on a regular basis Checking the lesson desk phone voicemail, calling guests back, and answering phone calls when possible Checking and replying to the lessons@bearvalley.com email account Checking-in lesson customers when they arrive onsite and selling any other items they may need (rentals/tickets) Responsible for counting out cash and closing the register for the sales location at end of day Other duties as assigned Skills and Competencies
Experience in customer service/sales/reservations Ability to communicate and listen in a professional and patient manner Ability to provide quality customer service and interact with guests on a professional level Able to develop thorough knowledge regarding the Axess Point of Sale system as a point of sale tool Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, website navigation and performance of key word searches Ability to maintain a positive, friendly and helpful attitude in all situations Excellent communication and listening skills Thrives in a challenging work environment Proven ability to work with a minimum of supervision, think quickly and take initiative to address problems in a creative manner that contributes to the team effort and guest experience Must be good with handling money
Work Schedules
Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Bear Valley employees.
When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 32 to 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods - especially the holiday periods in December and the months of January and February - you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.
You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road.
Working Conditions
Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Bear Valley Mountain Resort employees.
When conditions are normal, the expected commitment is 32-40 hours per week including weekends and holidays. During busy periods - particularly the holiday periods - you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.
You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy roads.
Uniforms
A professional appearance at Bear Valley Mountain Resort is required, and most uniform items will be provided for you to do your job. This uniform is for work hours ONLY, no exceptions.
Housing
Some shared housing options are available to qualified Bear Valley Mountain Resort employees who can pass a background check and sign a lease agreement. Please indicate whether you are interested in receiving more detailed information on housing.
The skiing/riding employee represents a model of safety for guests and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safety procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies of the mountain.
