Mechanical Estimator - ARB, Inc.
We are seeking a Mechanical Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for understanding project requirements, identifying the costs involved, and preparing detailed estimates. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities, be proficient in computer applications, and be skilled in creating detailed reports for the Lead Estimator. Key Responsibilities Analyze bid documents and conditions to determine scope of work. Quantify mechanical piping work scope from P&IDs and create detailed pipe estimates. Provide engineered equipment installation estimates. Research and understand construction sequences for equipment erection. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates. Identify risks during estimates and determine proper mitigation plans. Evaluate various factors that influence productivity and develop accurate forecasts to assist management in making decisions. Collaborate with the proposal team to ensure all client requirements are satisfied. Request and obtain current pricing for bulk materials from suppliers. Obtain and evaluate subcontractor proposals. Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks. Skills and Qualifications 5-10 years in industrial construction Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes Familiarity with the EPC contracting process, including bidding and pricing strategies Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated. Positive attitude and excellent motivation skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask. Strong interpersonal skills to interface with owner representatives, engineering firms, subcontractors, other team members, and senior management. Strong analytical and financial analysis skills. Proficiency in construction estimating software, Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel, and Word. Knowledgeable in Primavera. Bachelor's degree in construction management or related is preferred.
