Employee Relations Senior Specialist
Virginia ABC is currently seeking applicants for the Employee Relations Senior Specialist role. This position will act as a consultant and coach to employees and managers in the area of employee relations. This position will promote consistency and fairness in all practices and demonstrate our values to ensure a positive work environment while mitigating risk for the company. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Include: Investigate and document facts while maintaining confidentiality on all employee relation issues such as complaints, managing conflict, harassment, discrimination, and consultations. Prepare written case summaries and collaborate with management and/or outside counsel to resolve issues including implementing disciplinary actions up to and including terminations. Provide objective and constructive guidance on interpretation and application of company policies and performance management. Coach, counsel and educate employees on matters related to conflict, harassment, discrimination, disparate treatment or other similar issues to ensure the employee is treated fairly. Assist in creating content for training education and facilitate training as appropriate. Respond to unemployment claims and represent Virginia ABC at Administrative Hearings. Develop and implement policies and procedures relating to the administrative functions of Employee Relations. Coordinate with Legal Division on document production, witness preparation, and responses to all third-party actions including EEOC, Virginia Employment Commission, and legal challenges. Interpret and counsel leadership and employees on policies and procedures to ensure their fair and consistent application. Work with supervisors to provide effective employee development and performance improvement plans. Assist in the preparation of operational and statistical reports to identify and address trends and issues. Research, coordinate, and implement special projects. Provide support and assistance to the Director of Human Resources with unemployment claims and employee relations issues. As needed, provides assistance to other HR functional areas to meet business demands and ensure effective and efficient delivery of services to customers. Minimum Qualifications: Professional-level Human Resources experience in a fast-paced office environment Ability to handle multiple projects Ability to travel throughout Virginia Experience as HR Generalist or similar role High professional standards such as confidentiality and ethics Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, other related fields, or equivalent years of human resources experience Two (2) years of Human Resources Generalist experience PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or equivalent certification Leadership experience We offer: Excellent work/life balance Paid Time Off (PTO) earned every two weeks worked and 14 paid holidays Affordable healthcare with employer contributions Virginia Retirement System (VRS) benefits College Tuition Reimbursement program Virginia ABC employees are covered under the Commonwealth's benefits package and VRS.
