Technical And Operations Coordinator
The Technical Operations Coordinator helps to manage the successful production operations of the Forbes Center, and provides technical support and guidance for over 200 professional guest artist, student and faculty performances as well as support for conferences and special events. Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Production Services Manager (PSM), daily activities include advancing and running rehearsals and performances, setting up technical equipment including lighting, sound and stage equipment, coordinating technical maintenance and upkeep of the venues and theatrical equipment, and support areas. Maintains operations calendar. Runs School of Music and select professional and other Forbes Center events. Prepares for performances as assigned including planning, implementing, and maintaining technical needs. Works with PSM, Faculty/Guest Artists/Directors to schedule resources and manage production expectations. Hangs and designs lighting, scenery, and props as needed. Provides production maintenance and upkeep of venues and equipment as assigned. Provides supervision, mentoring and coaching for 4 Production Fellows and student production crews. Maintains and updates Production documents and calendars. Qualifications: Knowledge of theatrical lighting systems, sound, projection, rigging and staging is required. Significant professional theatre experience in a performing arts center or university setting with emphasis in theatrical lighting, technical production support, and stage management. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule that includes early mornings, evenings and weekends that changes weekly depending on the performance calendar.
