Assistant Implants Manager, Full-Time (Onsite)
General Summary Of Duties: The Assistant Implants Manager is highly involved with a key aspect of the hospital's revenue cycle. Under the direction of the Implants Director, the primary duties of the Assistant Implants Manager are to monitor implant costs and related revenue and purchasing activities. Requirements: High School Diploma required. Previous Buyer experience, inventory management, and/or OR Scrub Tech experience preferred. Experience with Healthcare Materials Management Information System preferred. In-depth knowledge of spinal and orthopedic implants preferred. Familiarity with insurance reimbursement, insurance payment and clinical policies. Familiarity with DRG information and CPT Codes. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel Essential Functions: Reviews case cost and reimbursements for all insurance providers and works with physicians to review procedural costs as necessary. Enters patients' charges for completed procedures and audit charges once cases have been verified. Issues purchase orders for completed procedures, creates new items in item master, updates pricing for items, and updates incorrect information on existing items. Resolves invoice discrepancies on the outstanding invoice tracker and materials invoice tracker. Works with vendors on new requested items and a Business Associate Agreement with new vendors on file. Collects neuromonitoring tech/read report and provides the Health Information Management department. Assists with various projects that are assigned to our department. Works with vendors on new item requests and evaluate which physicians will be using the products with additional evaluation on similar products in system to establish a price point for new items. Works with nursing staff to correct charging and implant log discrepancies. Enters implant/supply on the quotes file cost once cases have been completed. Provides department support as needed when staff are on leave.
