Morgan Stanley ALM Team
The Morgan Stanley ALM team engages with a broad range of clients
including insurance companies, pensions, banks and corporates
on the impact of risk on a companys income statement, balance sheet, and capital; structuring optimal benchmarks for asset allocation and liability management; assessing the impact of regulatory and accounting changes on asset and capital allocation and pricing decisions. The team is at the centre of Morgan Stanleys efforts to offer complex customized analysis to our premier clients and to tailor value-added solutions which support the achievement of the clients business objectives. In addition to being a client-facing group, the ALM team works closely with many coverage and product teams within other areas of the firm including Global Capital Markets (GCM), Fixed Income, Equity and Investment Banking. The team has developed a suite of models which are applied and customized to each client in a project framework. As such the models embody the collective insights and experience accumulated by the team, and incorporate the current regulatory, accounting and corporate finance frameworks appropriate to the task. The Morgan Stanley ALM team is part of the Fixed Income Division (FID) and covers the firms most prestigious institutional clients. The team has a global mandate working with our partners in Europe, New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong covering insurance, pensions, banks and corporates. Currently, the team consists of a mixture of Actuaries, Accountants and PhDs, who work to develop cross-asset quantitative solutions, mindful of regulatory and accounting impacts. The ALM team is looking to hire a US insurance expert to lead cross-asset ALM solution sales coverage of US insurers. The successful candidate will be working with US Rates Structuring, US Insurance Sales and the broader global ALM Team. Candidate Requirements
5+ years experience working at a US insurance company or sell-side coverage of US insurance companies Expert knowledge of US NAIC capital rules and US Statutory Accounting principles (SAP) Strong mathematics and finance skills, with experience working with quantitative methods Actuarial qualification is beneficial What You Can Expect From Morgan Stanley

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $225,000 and $250,000 per year commencement of employment for Vice President, and $300,000 per year commencement of employment for Executive Director. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
