Caregiver Position
Right at Home is seeking an experienced and compassionate caregiver to support a female client living with progressed dementia in the Cerritos area. This client receives care 12 hours per day, and we are looking for someone who can commit to at least 2 consistent days per week (3 days preferred). Pay: $21/hour + Overtime. About the Client: Our client is social and enjoys engaging with caregivers once rapport is built. Her favorite activities include: Visiting senior centers Going to the mall Taking walks at the park Attending church Picking flowers and dancing She is hands-on and thrives when doing activities together but may struggle initially with new caregivers. She may become agitated or resistant at times, including refusing to allow entry or asking caregivers to leave. The ideal caregiver knows how to: Redirect calmly Respect her space when needed Rebuild trust and stay composed during challenging moments Requirements: Minimum 3 years of professional experience with dementia care (especially mid to late-stage) Strong attendance record Excellent communication with the office on scheduling, client condition, and any concerns Comfortable driving the client to doctor appointments, errands, and outings (mileage reimbursed) Able to follow structured routines Comfortable with cameras in the home Willing to engage in lighthearted activities like dancing, companionship, and hands-on tasks Skilled in de-escalation and redirection Schedule: Must be available for 12-hour shifts and able to commit to at least 2 days per week.
