Senior Algorithm Verification R&D Engineer
We have an exciting opportunity for an Algorithm Verification R&D Engineer supporting the Interventional Cardiology Therapies (ICTx) R&D team. This role will ensure the commercial readiness of machine learning & classical algorithms to deliver life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC's mission. Work Mode: This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our Maple Grove, MN office at least three days per week. Your responsibilities will include: Own the verification/validation strategies for machine learning models and classical algorithms in medical device systems such as intravascular imaging, intravascular lithotripsy, etc. Assess new features for performance limitations and/or bias and understand the clinical impact of the algorithm performance. Support the development of design controls for features utilizing machine learning models and classical algorithms. Support regulatory submissions for products incorporating machine learning models and classical algorithms. Collaborate with Machine Learning & Algorithm engineers, Data engineers, Systems engineers, Design Assurance engineers, Regulatory, and Marketing colleagues to achieve project goals. Create a strong team culture around high expectations & high performance. In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality. Required qualifications: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in engineering, science, or similar discipline. Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience with bachelor's degree, 3+ years of industry experience with master's degree, or 0-1+ years of industry experience with PhD. Experience in the medical device industry or similarly regulated industry. Experience with machine learning model development & validation. Experience with Python. Preferred qualifications: Experience with machine learning for medical images. Knowledge of design control development process. Experience with regulatory submissions for products utilizing machine learning. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
