The Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) reports to the Social Work Manager for the Institute of Psychiatry. This position provides a wide variety of direct social worker services in an acute care psychiatric setting for a complex caseload of adult patients including psychosocial assessment, discharge planning, case management, group therapy and related documentation in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary treatment team. This position identifies risk factors that the patient may experience after discharge and applies discharge interventions to lower the patient risk of an undesirable event post discharge. The Social Worker bridges the discharge to outpatient provider with the patient to address issues and questions. This is a full-time position that will provide support to our General Adult Inpatient Unit and our Senior Care Inpatient Unit, as well as provide floating coverage for other inpatient units within the IOP on a as needed basis. Social worker must be licensed as a LMSW at the time of hire in the State of South Carolina. Education: Master's Degree in Social Work or Social Welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education required. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners required. Certification in case management preferred. Licensure required at the time of hire. Demonstrates ability to collaborate in a positive, professional manner with medical professionals. Requires ability to work in a thorough but efficient manner. Ability to use lower extremities for balance and coordination. Ability to reach in all directions. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted. Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. Ability to match or discriminate between colors. Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. Good peripheral vision capabilities. Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations. Ability to work rotating shifts. Ability to work overtime as required. Ability to work in a latex safe environment. Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function.
