Immediate need for a unique caregiving opportunity. Pay rate 23.00 to 25.00 depending on experience. We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and flexible caregiver to provide one-on-one care within an assisted living community in Ballard. ComForCare has worked within this community for over 5 years providing companion care to several residents living there. The shift is 7 days a week presently 2-4 hours per day, additional hours likely to become available. Each day will consist of time spent with multiple clients for periods ranging from one to two hours each. Most of the clients have some degree of dementia, and our focus is on providing a high level of engagement and interaction, as well as excellent communication with the ComForCare office and the client families. This position is an excellent opportunity for nursing students to gain hands on experience working with seniors, in particular Seattle Pacific University students as the community is less than two miles from campus. This role requires someone who is creative, engaging and positive...someone who loves people. It is a unique opportunity to work flexible hours (each day is slightly different based on client and family needs) with a variety of personalities. There are also opportunities to take a lead role with other caregivers within the community. Consistency, flexibility, and dependability are a must! Must have up-to-date CNA or HCA, CPR, and WA State Food Workers card. Caregiving Assist with daily activities to help clients stay independent and in their own apartments. Provide assistance with personal care as needed. Assist with mobility, transfers, and range of motion exercises. Engage with clients in a meaningful way, including implementation of physical activities and memory care focused activities Provide companionship and respite services for the families Provide support with compliance Interact with clients, families and caregivers Qualifications:
High school graduate or G.E.D certificate Licensed to provide home care in Washington State. MUST have up to date HCA or CNA At least 3 years experience as a Home Care Aide (in homes or facilities) desired, or other applicable experience Be listed in good standing on with the Washington DSHS Background Check System Strong written and verbal communication Must have good organizational skills Must possess a valid driver's license Must also have reliable transportation and be able to work throughout the Seattle metro area Experience with specific conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's, etc a plus Experience and comfort with holistic/integrative healthcare plus Benefits:
