Responsible for the day to day operations of the laboratory including work assignments, work flow, staff scheduling and competency, oversight of equipment availability and maintenance, protocol and procedure development and establishing and monitoring laboratory QA and compliance with ICAEL and other regulatory agencies. Functions in a supervisory role and assumes overall responsibility for the operations of the laboratory including addressing any issues or problems that affect the ability of staff to perform high quality studies with efficiency. Maintains clinical competence and performs cardiac imaging studies. Participates in the selection and development of staff ensuring competency and holding staff to high standards of performance. Ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory policies and procedures. Establishes and monitors service and quality measures. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Minimum: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Sonography Certification and Registration - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS). 5 years' experience in cardiac ultrasound imaging. Preferred: Bachelor's degree. Prior management experience.
