License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in nuclear medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification. Certifications: American Heart Association BLS Must-Have: Graduate of an Allied Health Education and Accreditation accredited program or equivalent. Description: Performs general nuclear medicine examinations, including therapeutic procedures and PET/CT patient exams in an acute care environment. Performs nuclear medicine quality control measures, patient exams, and procedures as requested by medical staff. Assists medical staff during exams and procedures. Completes documentation for all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams. Verifies written and electronic orders and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of nuclear medicine exams and procedures. Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of quality indicators as described in the strategic plan. Completes appropriate documentation for the administration, receipt, return, decay, and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance with state and federal regulations. Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times. Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality. Performs essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment. Learns current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized in the role. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlines. This role requires regular and sustained attendance. Working beyond a standard workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts, may be necessary. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs. Facility reserves the right to cancel shifts in the event of low census or other unforeseen circumstances. Traveler must reside at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered.
