Seeking a Histology or Pathology Tech with experience assisting Mohs procedures at the Fargo dermatology clinic. Full-time position open to working 32-40 hours/week. No evenings, weekends, or on call! Histology Technician

Requires 2-year degree in biology or related field. Certification as Histology Technician required. Wage range $21.50-34.50 Pathology Technician

Requires 4-year degree in biology or related field. Wage range $22.50-36.00 Histology Technologist

Requires 4-year degree in biology or related field. Certification as Histology Technologist required. Wage range $25.00-38.50 Job Summary

Receives and prepares tissue specimens for routine and special examinations. Performs complex histological procedures using techniques to gross, embed, perform microtomy, and stain to make tissue slides used for diagnosis. Responsible to review slide quality. Maintains and repairs lab instruments. Disinfects work area and stocks supplies. Ensures all lab safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met. Will work with self-discipline and good judgment while following established standards of practice. Must utilize critical and independent judgement in decision-making and problem solving. May be required to interact with all ages of client population. Will be responsible for performing routine duties in all areas of the Histology Laboratory. Recognize responsibilities of other laboratory and health care personnel and interact with respect for their jobs and patient care. Assist in writing and reviewing current and new procedures in the department as well as changes in general hospital policy and procedures. Take part and actively participate with quality assurance and performance improvement activities associated with the laboratory. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Laboratory or Biological Sciences required. Prior histology experience preferred. Possess an HHS (Health and Human Services) approved certification, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in their field of work, or must be registry eligible upon hire and receive certification (Histology Technician (HT) or Histology Technologist (HTL)) within twelve months.
