Gallery Assistants Wanted

The Woskob Family Gallery at Penn State's College of Arts and Architecture is seeking gallery assistants to join their contemporary art space throughout the academic year. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in gallery operations including exhibition installation and de-installation, staffing the gallery during open hours to welcome visitors and provide information, supporting events and public programs, handling basic administrative tasks, and managing social media accounts with content creation and community engagement. The position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, interest in contemporary art and gallery practices, physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and flexibility for variable scheduling that includes evenings and weekends for openings and special events. Previous exhibition installation experience is a significant advantage. Starting rate is $20/hour. Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
