Job Profile Summary Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Informatics, the Informatics RN is the clinical knowledge expert providing the input into the design, development, evaluation and optimization of the clinical information systems. This on-site role works within the interdisciplinary team to assure a high value, user-friendly, comprehensive, integrated network which meets the needs of both clinicians and patients. The primary scope of this work is done within the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) and its associated 3rd party applications. Job Overview The Informatics RN is responsible for the coordination of nursing informatics day to day operations. This position works corporately inter- and intra-departmentally to create a system of quality health care utilizing the hospital's EHR and affiliated healthcare technology systems through the integration of clinical and informatics skills. Position/Job Title: 40 Hours per week, Day Shift Minimum Qualifications: 1. Massachusetts RN Licensure. 2. 3 Years of RN Experience. 3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. 4. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Preferred Qualifications: 1. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). 2. Experience in Informatics. 3. Experience working in complex healthcare organizations. 4. Specialty Nursing certifications. Duties and Responsibilities: Implements applications, processes, and structures that assist clinicians with the management of data in patient care and provision of health care. Ensures appropriate communication and documentation is complete in order to support application quality and development. Manages and participates in clinical standardization efforts for the purpose of building clinical informatics systems, workflow analysis, and evidence-based content in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Leverages internal and external resources and tools to deliver a high-quality electronic health record. Coordinates problem identification and resolution. Supports end user adoption and sustainment of the EHR. Focuses on clinical utilization and workflow including patient safety and clinical outcomes through safe EHR use and practices. Works directly with clinicians and clinical leadership to proactively assess adoption and sustainability of the electronic record. Creates and fosters a learning environment that helps facilitate the professional growth and development of staff. Participates in identifying needs at the organizational level and assists with strategic planning, organizing, executing, controlling, and evaluating systems, processes and practice, and information processing. Attends and participates on committees, task forces, and meetings for coordination/facilitation of goals. Advises and consults with clinical leadership regarding the identification of software and information infrastructure problem areas, determines procedural changes, or application program modifications, and assists with problem resolution.
