ESH invites applications for the position of a NGRI PSYCHOLOGIST (Psychologist II). This position is responsible for providing comprehensive treatment to patients adjudicated NGRI, including comprehensive risk assessment and risk management strategies as well as necessary forensic report writing for progression through the graduated privileging process. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to conducting initial and ongoing psychological assessments, providing individual treatment sessions to address relevant risk management issues and treatment issues, treatment planning through core membership on a treatment team, psychotherapy groups, as well as behavioral consultation and program development as needed, and providing supervision and training for Psychology students (intern and practicum). Multiple positions may be filled by this announcement. Coordination of psychological services for each patient on caseload. Knowledge, skills, and abilities for the delivery of psychological practice and principals with a specific focus on risk assessment and risk management. Knowledge of hospital/community/agency resources and ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary treatment team. Understanding of those adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and the graduated privileging process, with specific emphasis on their respective treatment needs. Knowledge of how persons with mental illness encounter the legal and criminal justice systems. Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia is preferred. Forensic training through the Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy (ILPPP) is preferred.
