Research Technologist

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a candidate for a Research Technologist in the laboratory of Prof. Song Tan in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Express proteins and protein complexes in E. coli Purify proteins, protein complexes and protein/DNA complexes using low pressure and high performance chromatography Analyze proteins and protein/DNA complexes by electrophoresis, spectroscopy, immunoassays and enzyme activity assays Maintain written and electronic laboratory records Assist with ordering laboratory supplies Maintain laboratory equipment This position requires a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in biological science, chemistry or physics. This is a term position funded for one year from date of hire with the possibility of refunding.
