Job Description - Advanced Practice Provider, Gastroenterology & Pulmonary (2500002M) Job Description Advanced Practice Provider, Gastroenterology & Pulmonary - ( 2500002M ) Description Overnight Shift - Advanced Practice Provider (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Physician Assistant) The Advanced Practice Provider is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse anesthetists) or Physician Assistant who practices within their scope of practice as appropriate in their jurisdictional area and in accordance with their organizational Medical Staff Bylaws. The provider manages patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care plans. They provide leadership and consultation within their clinical area through participation in division/department initiatives and mentorship of colleagues. They also participate in organization-wide initiatives to promote the role of advanced practice providers. Qualifications Minimum Education Master's Degree or Doctoral degree as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant from an accredited university, with eligibility for medical staff credentialing (Required) Minimum Work Experience 0 years of experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge Strong clinical specialty knowledge, clinical leadership skills, and excellent communication skills. Required Licenses and Certifications APRN licensure or Physician Assistant National board certification, CDS and DEA in practice state(s), BLS certification, and Board Certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for young adult populations (Required). Functional Accountabilities Clinical Assess, diagnose, monitor, and promote patient health using evidence-based practices. Develop care plans, write orders, prescribe therapies, and coordinate home care as needed. Identify significant changes in patient status via exams, labs, diagnostics, and input from patients and families. Perform procedures after credentialing, participate in multidisciplinary care conferences, and serve as a resource for patients and team members. Administrative Serve as a preceptor for students, provide educational presentations, and participate in quality improvement activities. Organizational Accountabilities Respond to customer needs and promote teamwork, communication, safety, and continuous improvement.
