GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB Under general supervision, performs storekeeping duties involving the receipt , recording , storage , inventory control and issuance of mater i ls and supplies for the City Utilities Program . ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : 1 : 1 Solicits quotations in accordance with established procedures to ensure materials are purchased at the lowest cost consistent with established specifications . 1 : 2 Prepares requisitions for materials and supplies whose cost exceed established dollar thresholds . 1 : 3 Inspects the quality and quantity of received goods ; ccepts or rejects as necessary 1:4 Operates computers in order to input inventory data; maintains accurate inventory database . 1 : 5 Receives, completes and/or submits records and documents including work orders , invoices , delivery/packing slips , receiving reports , price quotations and general office correspondence . 1 : 6 Processes stores requisitions . 1 : 7 Performs radio and telephone communications as needed . 1 : 8 Utilizes various types of equipment and tools such as computer , copier , two-way radio , pick-up truck and materials handling equipment. 1:9 Works within Financial/Purchasing policies and procedures to ensure store room/inventory procedures are consistent with City policies . 1 : 10 Maintains security of stockroom . 1 : 11 Performs annual inventory .
PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS REQUIRED .
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum and preferred): EDUCATION High School Diploma required .
EXPERIENCE One to two years' experience in accounting , computer operations , purchasing or warehouse administration preferred. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSURE Valid Florida Drivers License required .

Communication Skills : nswer telephones , coordinate meetings, schedule appointments and compose letters/reports . General Office Skills : maintain logs, proofread documents, balance figures , establish and maintain filing systems, research information and compile statistics .
WORKING CONDITIONS Subject to many interruptions. Contact with persons under a wide variety of circumstances. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquires. Subject to occasional irregular hours as required by Supervisor .
WORKING ENVIRONMENT May be exposed to toxic chemicals . May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold in all weather conditions. Exposed to hot and humid work environment. Exposed to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals . Exposed to hot or noisy equipment.
