Our team is partnered with a publicly-traded holding company; they provide large-scale electrical construction services throughout the U.S. and western Canada - they are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team!
Company is growing - several acquisitions over the years expanding their state presence and new areas of focus (solar energy) Not a compliance role. Compliance is co-sourced so this person will be doing provisions, research, quarterly estimates, etc. Team is going through transformations - analyzing and rebuilding processes, making things better. Improvement mindset Long-term growth potential. Room for this person to grow into a manager after a few years. Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Play an active role in preparing provisions for federal and state taxes, rate reconciliations, and reserves for uncertain tax positions Assist with calculation and preparation of quarterly corporate income tax estimated tax payments and extensions Prepare schedules for federal, state and local income tax filings Prepare property tax returns, Sales and Use tax returns, annual reports, and other miscellaneous filings as required. Provide support during any tax audits Manage fixed asset depreciation calculation for tax purposes Remain informed with respect to tax law developments and their impact on the Company Assist Tax Managers and Director of Tax with special tax projects as needed Assist with accounting/finance responsibilities as needed Regular and predictable attendance Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable. Other duties as assigned Qualifications:
Minimum 2 - 4 years of experience as a Tax Accountant Solid background in U.S. corporate tax compliance, GAAP, and other related U.S. accounting standards Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting; MBT (Master in Business Taxation) degree preferred CPA license strongly preferred
