Overview
The Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician
is a member of the active medical staff of Capital Caring Health and provides services to our patients throughout the course of their care. This person has advanced knowledge and skills to help prevent and relieve suffering some patients experience with life-limiting, life-threatening and terminal illnesses. The care provided includes, but is not limited to, home and facility-based hospice, home and facility-based palliative care, inpatient hospice, hospital-based palliative care consultation, and outpatient palliative care clinics. Location: Washington, D.C. - Sibley Inpatient Unit Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm with nights/weekends as per medical staff requirements COVID-19 vaccine required to be completed upon start. The Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician provides services to our patients throughout their illnesses. Qualifications
Licensure Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Maryland, the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or the District of Columbia as dictated by job responsibilities and regional assignments. DEA and State Controlled Substances Registration in above jurisdictions. Education Must be a licensed physician (Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy) from an accredited school. Board certification in a related specialty, certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine is desired. Experience Must have 3-5 years of related experience or a Palliative Care Fellowship is preferred. Expertise in the medical care of terminally ill individuals is required.
