Job Description
Google Quantum AI is on a mission to build a large-scale quantum computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations and to unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap focuses on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications. The Quantum Error Correction Theory team studies the design and implementation of error correction schemes, including logical gates and decoding algorithms. This team collaborates closely with experimentalists on implementing error correction with superconducting qubits. Research is focused on codes that could be implemented in this system, such as topological codes or LDPC codes. Responsibilities
Perform research to invent new protocols or improve existing protocols for quantum error correction, including compiling logical gates and implementing accurate decoding. Collaborate with software engineers to develop and maintain supporting software. Work with research scientists and hardware engineers to design and implement error correction experiments. Present research findings through internal presentations, external conferences, and academic papers.
