Job Details

To perform assigned reimbursement and accounting functions, complete assigned reports, and provide accurate and timely information for review by the Director of Reimbursement or their designee.

Duties/Responsibilities

Preparation and analysis of schedules and reports for interim, monthly, and year-end reporting.

Prepares/reviews consolidated operating reports, cost reports, financial statement entries, and other reports as assigned by management.

Assigns training and reviews staff work.

Downloads and organizes rate files for billing, prepares calculator files for patient accounts, and ensures rates are communicated appropriately, including impact analysis. Coordinates efforts within the Reimbursement department with IT, Revenue Cycle, and other departments for billing rate updates.

Uses Microsoft Excel models for charity care analysis, cost reports, budget capital reports, and Medicare/Medicaid schedules, working alongside the Director and staff.

Prepares the Institutional Cost Report (ICR), including supporting schedules, memos, and data collection. Handles audits and implements necessary changes, educating staff on processes.

Prepares and reports daily, weekly, monthly, and annual statistics for internal and external reporting, including third-party rate accounts, IME/GME counts, and budget capital reporting.

Coordinates the preparation and submission of monthly reports and payments to HCRA pools.

Responds to audits from third-party auditors, NGS, CMS, and NYS auditors related to S3, ICR, DSH/ICR, and charity care.

Assists with governmental reporting requirements and third-party audits.

Additional hours may be required to meet deadlines.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

MBA preferred.

Skills

Highly organized with excellent communication skills.

Strong analytical skills and ability to multitask.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Physical Requirements

Sitting for long periods, with standing, walking, and bending as needed.

Excellent verbal and auditory communication skills.

Near vision acuity for recordkeeping and computer work.

Experience

Minimum of five years in Reimbursement Department, preferably hospital reimbursement experience in New York State.

Salary Range

USD $125,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 per year. The actual salary will depend on qualifications, skills, and experience. Benefits, bonuses, and incentives are not included in this range.
